Ferno Australia was established in 1974 as the Australian distributor for the Ferno Washington USA range of ambulance and emergency products. Today, Ferno Australia is an important part of the Ferno global group and a highly respected market leader that develops, manufactures and distributes more than 10,000 products to the Emergency, Rescue, Safety, Home Care, Mortuary and Rock Climbing markets.

As part of Ferno Australia’s strategic development, Ferno Engineering was established in 1994 to lead the company’s research, development and manufacturing of new products for the domestic and international markets.

Since then, Ferno Engineering has grown from strength to strength to not only service Ferno Australia’s needs, but also a growing list of external customers. Their capabilities now encompass precision multi-axis machining, general fabrication, manufacturing and assembly. Its R&D Team support these services and work closely with Ferno International and Australia.

Ferno Engineering has recently expanded its facilities to further enhance its manufacturing capabilities and cement its reputation for fabricating products that are of consistent high quality and to customer’s specifications.

Highlights in Ferno Engineering’s history includes being awarded a Design Mark by the Design Council for for Ferno’s Arachnipod modular total edge management system in 2008. Earlier, Ferno Engineering’s R & D Team won a Design Award for its cutting-edge Ferno 50-E ambulance stretcher which is used in all ambulances in Victoria, ACT and WA.
